What Is Corrective Exercise

Corrective exercise focuses on identifying movement imbalances, postural patterns, and lifestyle factors that may contribute to pain, tension, or limited mobility.

Using principles from the CHEK approach, sessions look beyond symptoms to understand how movement, lifestyle, and stress patterns influence the body.

A Holistic Approach to Movement

From a CHEK perspective, the body is never viewed in isolation. Pain or dysfunction in one area is often influenced by patterns elsewhere in the body and by lifestyle factors outside of the gym.

Movement, posture, breathing, stress, sleep, and daily habits all play a role in how the body functions. When one or more of these areas is out of balance, the body often compensates — which can lead to tension, discomfort, or inefficient movement patterns over time.

Rather than focusing only on the area of pain, corrective exercise looks at the body as a whole system. This approach helps identify underlying patterns that may be contributing to dysfunction and supports more lasting improvements in how the body moves and feels.

Who Is This For?

Corrective exercise may be a good fit if you:

• Experience ongoing pain or recurring injuries
• Notice poor posture or movement imbalances
• Feel tight, stiff, or limited in your mobility
• Sit for long periods or have a physically demanding job
• Have tried stretching, workouts, or treatments without lasting results
• Want to understand what may be causing the issue — not just manage symptoms

This work is designed for individuals who are ready to take an active role in improving how their body moves and functions.

The Assessment Process

Corrective exercise begins with a comprehensive assessment designed to understand how your body is functioning as a whole.

This may include evaluating posture, movement patterns, breathing mechanics, and lifestyle factors that can influence how your body moves and feels.

Rather than focusing only on the area of discomfort, the assessment looks for patterns that may be contributing to strain or imbalance elsewhere in the body.

From there, we begin developing a personalized approach that may include movement corrections, postural awareness, and simple lifestyle adjustments to support more efficient movement and reduce unnecessary stress on the body.

CHEK Integrated Wellness Screen - 30 minutes

This screen exists because you deserve more than symptom management. You deserve answers. And a path forward.

The CHEK Integrated Wellness Screen was created for people like you –

individuals who are tired of masking the problem and are ready to understand what’s really going on. Whether your pain started recently or has been with you for years, this process helps us uncover the underlying causes of dysfunction through a whole-body lens.

Chronic pain rarely begins where you feel it. And it never ends with a quick fix.

The human body is an integrated system. A misaligned pelvis can influence your neck. Shallow breathing can feed anxiety and inflammation. A gut issue can create back pain. A stressed nervous system can sabotage recovery. This screen gives us insight into these hidden relationships so we can begin to unwind them – strategically, not randomly.

Whether you’re here for prevention or rehabilitation, this screen helps you:

  • Identify the stressors and imbalances that are driving your pain or symptoms

  • Connect the dots between your physical structure, core function, breath, lifestyle, and emotional health

  • Establish a clear picture of where your body is compensating – and what to do about it

  • Lay the foundation for a systematic, individualized plan that can reduce or eliminate pain for the long term

This is an introductory wellness screen to see if this is the right path for you.

This is a 30 minute wellness screen that will include:

  1. postural measurements

  2. standing postural assessment (with photos)

  3. breathing pattern assessment

  4. core control control assessment

You'll receive your personalized report of findings within 1-2 days.
